My Story

I became an artist after I retired from a long career in computers. I started taking classes at the local community college and by the spring of 2008 I had earned my associate's degree in fine art. Being fascinated with pastels I simultaneously started taking classes with Deborah Secor in early 2007.

I love painting the beautiful scenery that we have here in New Mexico. Sometimes I paint plein aire but most of the time I take photographs and paint from them back in my studio. I am inspired by the colors and light in nature. Sunsets, storm clouds, and mountains are some of my favorite subjects.
